An implant is a metal screw made of titanium that is placed in the jawbone under the gum level. Once the implant has healed into the bone, it is ready to have a tooth placed on top. The tooth, also known as a crown, is designed to match your teeth in shape and colour so that they will blend in naturally with the surrounding teeth. No one will be able to tell it is a dental implant unless you tell them!
From placing the implant to having the crown fitted, it usually takes 3-4 months. This is to allow the healing process between the implant and the bone so we can be sure it is stable enough to support the crown and also allow time for the crown to be made at the dental lab.
From as little as £55 per month with one of our finance plans, your treatment can be spread into affordable monthly amounts (subject to T&Cs)
Other options for replacing missing teeth are dentures or dental bridges. With these options, there are drawbacks to the treatment. Dentures can affect speech or eating, may become loose and need removing every night. Dental bridges involve the drilling of healthy teeth to support the bridge.
