There are many aspects of our lifestyle that can contribute to staining teeth. Products containing tobacco, like smoking, can cause the teeth to discolour and turn yellow. This can also apply to drinking coffee regularly. Other foods and drinks to consider include wine, juice and even curries, which contain high levels of artificial colours. Try to avoid having these foods where you can to avoid staining your bonded teeth.
All patients should be brushing their teeth twice a day for 2 minutes. Ideally, morning and night to keep your teeth thoroughly clean. We recommend using toothpaste with fluoride and changing your toothbrush every 3/4 months.
Drinking water after meals can help reduce the acidity levels in your mouth. Also, drinking water after meals can help remove leftover food left in your teeth.
Cleaning in between your teeth can sometimes be forgotten. Regular cleaning does not clean all surfaces of your teeth. So use floss or tepe’s (interdental brushes) after brushing to remove all the plaque.
Bad habits such as nail biting, biting pens or using your teeth to open things are some you must stop. Those bad habits can lead to wearing down the resin or even chipping your teeth.
Visiting your Dentist and Hygienist at least twice a year is recommended. Regular visits help maintain your smile and look after your investment.
